On September 16, 2022, my friend Kurp and I decided to try Curran's restaurant for a meal. However, our experience turned out to be a nightmare. We were met with unwelcoming stares as we entered the restaurant, feeling like out-of-towners on a road trip. Despite the hostile atmosphere, we ordered food - fish and chips for me, and Indian curry for Kurp. The food arrived quickly, but it was far from enjoyable. The fish was not fresh, and the chips were overly hard. Even Kurp's curry was terrible, making us both feel sick. The barman seemed eager for us to leave, adding to the unpleasant experience. A day out with friends, we 1st went to Strangford town but all the restaurants were booked out, we then headed to Ardglass and by luck discovered this little gem. Old worldly decor throughout, great atmosphere with a mix of drinkers and diners Service was quick and the menu was reasonably priced all in all a great dining experience. There's a great outdoor area for when the warmer weather comes which we intend to use on our next visit. Google Currans and give it a go.
After a morning exploring Castleward and a lovely refreshing swim at Killough, we felt ready for a good meal. We were not disappointed. Our starter was a pint of the finest Guinness. It was absolutely perfect. We sipped it while awaiting our seafood linguine, it’s hard to express our joy at this splendid dish of langoustine, prawns and fish. Exquisite comes close. We shared the delightfully sweet, crunchy pecan pie. Oh bliss. We will certainly return to Currans.
Food is very nice here but the setting of the location is the main attraction. It has a playpark to keep children entertained whilst waiting for the food, which i have never seen in any other restaurant establishment. Its also situated out in the countryside and lovely views, especially on a sunny day sitting outside at the tables. Visited twice for food and it was spot on both times. Will be back again! This was our fifth visit to Currans and it was the best one yet. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Despite being busy, the staff still made an effort to interact with the kids, chat with the guests, and provide attentive service. My wife had the scampi and I had the sea bass, both of which were delicious. I would also highly recommend trying the Seafood Platter.
Stuck between score of 3 and 4. Nice place. Staff very nice and most helpful. Our food was generally nice but I wouldn’t be raving about it. Cod special over cooked I’m afraid. But don’t want to be too harsh but also a bit on pricey side but sure maybe that the inflation etc. still well worth a place to stop and have a bite
It has been some time since we last visited this restaurant. We attended a birthday party and were impressed by the delicious food and excellent service. They were willing to accommodate any request. We are excited to try their curry or steak night in the future. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
After a nostalgic visit to nearby Ballyhornan, with it's gorgeous beach and childhood memories, we made our way to Curran's on a dank and dreary Monday afternoon -Curran;s is so welcoming -friendly staff, good food, great portions, reasonably priced. Highly recommended

Great seafood. I had the seafood platter. The chowder had plenty of fish in it. Lovely, never disappoints. Hubby had seafood pasta really nice. Looking forward to another trip back.
Excellent food. Chowder and linguine full of tasty fish. Service with a smile from Paddy. A must go to restaurant for fish lovers.
