I had a frustrating experience ordering food over the phone at this restaurant. I was transferred to 4 different people and told by 3 of them that butter paneer couldn't be ordered, even though paneer and butter chicken were both on the menu. The 4th person finally confirmed that it could be made. When I went to collect the food, I was informed that the card machine wasn't working, which was not mentioned when I placed my order. When I asked where the nearest cash machine was, they didn't know. The food was disappointing, with bland and flavorless dishes and a high sauce to filling ratio. I recently dined at Curry's Cottage at Lover Leap, a charming little Indian restaurant. The atmosphere was very pleasant and romantic, although those with poor eyesight may struggle with the dim lighting in certain areas. The service was efficient and quick, although our server lacked friendliness and didn't smile. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were generous, although they were a bit out of proportion - we had to order extra naan and rice to finish our mains. Despite this, the overall experience was very enjoyable and I would definitely return if I find myself in Stoney Middleton again.
