Customs House Hotel

It's a bit awkward when you want to eat between 3-6pm as a lot of restaurants, pubs are not open or not serving meals. So, by accident we found this place serving, so we looked at their menu and it's not cheap. All the Main starts over $30 and nothing that jumps out- typical pub meals. We were sick of paying a lot for something we don't even fancy. With this second trip in Tassie, we got a lot of disappointing food-same as last time- it's hard to find good place to eat. We thought Tassie was full of fresh food- but according to a local, all the seafood go to Melbourne and Sydney market first, then comes back to Tassie from there. Hmmm. Anyhow we ended up ordering 2 entrées, mussels in tomato...

J'y ai séjourné pendant 2 nuits sur notre dernière étape du voyage Tassie. La chambre est venue tous les jours avec le choix du petit-déjeuner. (Vous pouvez choisir une sélection de petits déjeuners et des boissons dans le menu du petit-déjeuner) Nous avons eu les benedicts d'œufs, des fourrages de maïs, des œufs de cuits au four et des saucisses wallaby pour le matin, nous étions là-bas. La partie du petit-déjeuner était très généreuse et délicieuse. Mon préféré était son pain turc "Soldiers", ils étaient si beaux et croustillants. Le café d'autre part était juste sur le par.

We had the seafood chowder one lunch time, yum. We had the seafood basket for dinner one night, yum. There was a singing competition between the Barmy Army and the Aussies, so good, so funny, didn’t stay as the volume was a bit too high for us seniors. Very fast service

You always get a good meal at Customs House. Good variety, reasonably priced and friendly service.
