Daawat is a tiny hole-in-the-wall restaurant serving Indian Food. Their indian food had different flavorings than one's we are used to from Canada. That being said, the selection was diverse & the food follows a lot more of a savory flavor than anything sweeter (their butter chicken was bit disappointing b/c of that). The service was meh. Our waitress didn't smile a whole lot and it took quite a bit of time for my hot chocolate to arrive - there was only 1 other table with guests, so I was a tad confused on why it took so long to get my drink. We ordered many items - Fish, Chicken, Lamb & Pork were all things we tried. There was confusion around the Lamb Vindaloo ordered. My husband has been...

We bought a Scoupon voucher for a three course meal for two at this restaurant (which was really a cafe). To start we had to share an entree for one. The coupon came with a soft drink included. We don't drink soft drink so I asked if we could have a Lassi instead and pay the difference, to which she agreed. The entree was very nice. It was followed by a serving of butter chicken and another of beef varuval. The curried were served, but we had no cutlery and had to ask for it. The butter chicken was tasty, but a lot hotter than I've ever had before. Both of us were blowing our noses a few minutes after starting the curry. The next course was the beef curry. I had one mouthful and found it ver...

My daughter and i made an impromptu visit to this restaurant on a cold Tuesday night. We were the only dine in customers and were pampered to the max. We received a complimentary papadum with a refreshing sauce to start. We chose onion bhajis to share, and then for mains we ordered chicken biriyani and dahl with roti. The food came ready quickly, although obviously they werent busy. We had visited India and can honestly the lovely fragrances took us right back there! The food was more than enough for is and we ate more than was comfortable as it was too nice to leave. Having stuffed ourselves, i didnt think we could eat more but we were treated to a lovely complimentary dessert, which was a...

If I had an Indian mother she'd probably cook like this.I'd not had a good curry for so long I had forgotten how comforting it could be. While my choice of Rogan Josh, rice and naan bread was hardly a broad sample I can say that I enjoyed it immensely. The decor is spartan, crisp, and very Singaporean in that way. Being small,it is run by one very nice man (with an immense beard!)I'm going to work my way through the menu. Being this young, it can only survive if we give it a good go and being in stiff competition its survival depends on us and it is tucked away beside a bigger Indian restaurant. I felt very comfortable in this unpretentious place but I suspect the more ambitious dishes could... Réservez une table maintenant

There are not many places in Perth that do dosa and uttapams - Daawat is one that serves credible South Indian dishes. that are reasonably priced. The paneer uttapama is delicious with just the right amount of green chilli. The sambals are very authentic. We will be certainly be back to try the rest of the menu.
