Daikanyama Lexington

it 's a sushi restaurant, so expectations center on the quality of the sushi... my wife and I decided to splurge and ordered the Daikanyama platter, The sushi chef 's selection ... what a total disappointment first of all, NO unagi, no ikura, no uni, no handrolls, no spicy anything not a single special item. And what there was tuna maki, california roll, small cuts of tuna, salmon and yellowtail sashimi, surimi, nigiri all was without flavor not one piece of fish where we said that was yummy. For the first time in 40+ years of eating sushi we did not bother to finish it. We had also ordered the hamachi collar a market price appetizer and a favorite of ours but when it came out it was clearly...

I entered the restaurant and asked for a menu, but was directed to the online menu via a QR code by the man at the counter. With no descriptions available, I found it difficult to make a decision and when I mentioned my confusion, I was ignored. Despite contemplating leaving, I decided to stay based on positive online reviews. Once seated, I was handed a paper menu with detailed descriptions of each dish, which was much appreciated. The server seemed busy and not very approachable, but she answered my questions quickly. My Sushi maki dish was delicious and fresh, although the lack of AC made it uncomfortably warm inside. I would definitely consider returning on a cooler day.

Daikanyama is a great dining experience every time for me. I generally get the Makimono luncheon combo which has tuna, salmon and avocado rolls along with soup and a small salad. The quality is consistently AWESOME and the presentation is beautiful as you can see. Service is always very attentive. If you're looking for a great lunch meal, sushi specifically, this is the place to go in Lexington!! Service: Take out

I was served with broken glass for the water and surprisingly, restaurant server did not notice until I pointed out to him. The lip was cracked and could cause severe injury to customers, I would never expect restaurant in such a high end town could experience such an incident...I wish them well and hope they can be more careful about this in the future. Food Service is excellent. Atmosphere is okay. But value is lacking; a $28 Chirasi had merely 5 small pieces of sashimi, a couple crab/cucumber pieces and some salmon roe. Frankly, I felt like I paid a lot for a fancy bowl of rice. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
