Today we ordered two roasts of the day. Much later we are advised that the roast has garlic (my wife is allergic to garlic), so her order is changed to a porterhouse steak. After a long wait, we are brought two porterhouse steaks. My wife gets her meal whilst I have to wait even longer for them to bring a roast out. The lady who took our order definitely got it right, but obviously the kitchen did not listen to her properly.Worst experience I have had at the Dandenong Club; standards are obviously slipping.Whilst on the subject of allergies, why do so many chefs find it necessary to cook vegetables & a common roast of the day with garlic? On arrival the welcome from the waitress was terrific, but it was all downhill from there. A small menu selection of mains, at higher than you would expect prices. We chose Lamb Cutlets, with a dipping sauce ( why I don't know ). The crumbed cutlets were very overcooked to the extent they were dry and the dipping sauce was the consistency of hard butter - totally useless. The waitress asked if our meals were nice. I explained they were terrible and why, so she reported it to the Manager, who offered us a free tea or coffee. How rude. I would have thought free meals would have been the least we would be offered. But no. WE WON'T BE BACK. .
Amazing food , first time I had visited the restaurant , great service especially from Rodney who was on , very hard to get great service but he was amazing , knew what he was doing, great suggestions from him and so friendly , nothing was a bother , only fault would say the be girl on , only sat down for one minute and was pushing for meal order , we hadn't even got a drink by then , but she kept coming back every 2 mins saying order or you will end up waiting a long time for your meals so we did besides that cannot fault meals or service great night especially thanks for great service from Rodney
The food was cold especially the fish and chips we had which the temperature was far below 75 degrees . The Manager was not helpful at all. The chef obviously can't cook. .The Gift shop over charges for any gifts you purchase.Check when you purchase any items. The price is not correct according to underneath the item and what the register says they love over charging customers.We will not go back again and I will not recommend them to anyone.This has happen to me 12 months ago with another friend being over charged. Visited with friend for dinner. Chose from the senior meal which gave a good choice. Meals were quite large and very tasty. Choice of Veges or salads with meal plus a good selection of desserts. Restaurant offers table service so do not need to queue up to order or be served. Very friendly staff and nice setting.
I am a regular here and am always greeted with a smile and prompt service a good range of tasty meals to choose from, the bistro can get busy which is a good sign in my experience . If you enjoy it I suggest you become a member for $20 or10 for seniors a year which includes a free meal on your birthday.
Very professional young staff make you feel very welcome. We ordered an entree to share and I had a great pork dish. My husband had the lamb chops both meals were very good. The timing of the staff for the table service was great no long waits and not to fast either. Good meal great service.
Dined in the restaurant this time & everything was spot on. The Atlantic Salmon & Porterhouse steak were cooked to perfection. Vegetables perfectly cooked also. Food came out in good time despite being busier than usual. Service was brilliant & a big congrats to all. Réservez une table maintenant
