in the list of really good restaurants that colonial drive on orlandos east side to do is dan’s restaurant. it's one of those places that, if they don't try it, they'll never know what they're missing. I admit that I live on the east side, and it took me some time to finally stop and check them. Finally a Saturday morning after my wife asked why we didn't have a kind of simple caffe art of space with big breakfast items near us?. I showed up and said. actually I have heard good things about Dan’s restaurant and they seem to have really good breakfast served all day...and best, it is right around the corner.
we were in a counter, the furniture we bought picked up and we were told by the salesman of the furniture about there, so we stopped and got the breakfast. eating is really good there and the portions were very large. the waitresses are very friendly and my coffee has never made it to half before they filled it up again! we sat at the bar seats and it was amazing to see how well the staff worked together so well and came along during a busy time! I wish they were not 2 hours away from home or I would be a loyal customer!
I passed by Dan's Family Restaurant today and unfortunately, it appears to have closed down. The sign is still up, but on this Saturday morning, there was no sign of any cars. Upon further investigation, I noticed bags of cement inside and all of the other items had been removed.
It is heartbreaking to see this restaurant closed. I have been a patron here on and off for the past 30 years. Unfortunately, they closed their doors for good on October 23, 2022.
