Ordered a large plain pie and was asked right away to pay. I was then told the pizza would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived 10 minutes later and was asked to pay second time. Upon my original entry, no other customers was asked to pay for their orders except for myself. Mind you, I was the only person there of African American descent. I suggest people of my nationality to spend their money at the Trattoria of Carmel instead of Mahopac, the customer service in Carmel is much appreciated!!!
The eggplant wedge was tasty, but it could have benefited from a bit more cheese. What really frustrated me, though, was that I scheduled my pick-up for 30 minutes later when I placed the order, and my delivery confirmation reflected that time. However, just two minutes after I ordered, I received a notification saying my food was ready for pick-up. Since I was taking it to a picnic, I couldn't reheat it before eating.
The young waitress I had on 2 visits is pleasant and professional. The very thin piece of veal on a wedge I had was indistinct and couldn't be tasted. Overwhelmed by bread. What a fantastic restaurant! The only downside is the limited parking. The owners are incredibly friendly, and honestly, this is the best Italian food in Mahopac. Dante's has been a local favorite for over 30 years. Here's my assessment: Food: 4, Service: 4, Atmosphere: 4. Highly recommend it for dinner! Réservez une table maintenant
The restaurant offers delicious food and attentive service. The portion sizes are generous. For a dinner experience, expect to spend around $20 to $30 per person. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere at 4 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Gnocchi Bolognese!
