One cannot dream to surpass the deli experience of Dave and Charlie’s Hometown Deli in Norwalk, CT. These two individuals, (and the heart and soul of Norwalk, Cristy) believe in community service and providing excellence to every customer. Their shop is the place for HS students down the road because not only is the food excellent and plentiful, but because it is considered a safe space. When you enter, you feel like you are a part of something special and intimate. They treat you with care and respect. The catering service is out of this world. I sometimes wonder and worry how long they will stay in business because you get more than what you pay for. Kudos to our city for housing this gem...
I absolutely love sausage, eggs, and cheese, and the hash browns they added were delicious! I personally prefer my egg yolks cooked through, but that's just my taste. Other than that, this sandwich deserves a solid 5 out of 5. I used to enjoy coming here during my senior year of high school, so it was a treat to grab one before heading off to my college class. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is fantastic! My friend enjoyed the classic sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich as well!
We ordered catering for 30 people and the food was exactly what we were hoping for and then some. Salmon, shrimp, pork, salad, grilled veggies, potatoes, pasta… Everything was perfect. Food quality was outstanding. People raved about it! Even with seconds, there was so much food leftover. We brought most of it over to EMS and they loved it, too. Thank you so much for everything, we won’t hesitate to go to you for any catering needs in the future!
I had the best breakfast sandwich ever! The staff is friendly and easy to talk to, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is fantastic, which enhances the experience even more. The service was great, and the food was exceptional. I just visited for the first time since I live nearly two hours away, and I’m seriously considering looking for nearby places to move so I can enjoy it every day!

I absolutely love the size of the subs at this deli! Everything was fantastic, and the Philly cheesesteak on garlic bread is truly a dream come true! I just wish I lived closer; I would order from here all the time. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and it was clear that many customers were regulars during our visit. This place sets the standard for all other delis!
The Durty Jerk was a little too spicy for my liking, but their dishes are always fresh and served hot. They consistently deliver tasty, quality meals every time. I’m also a huge fan of their fries!
The roll of my sandwich was so hard that it was inedible and tasted stale. It was disgusting. I will never order from here again; what a waste of money and food.
I love Dave Charlie’s Hometown Deli! It’s my local deli. You walk in and they know your name. Food is always great and I love the breakfast sandwiches!
