Really not a 3 star place--more deserving of 4, but the current 4.7 is misleadingly high. That and the since 1910 on the truck outside got me excited, but the experience was a bit more pedestrian.This is an old-school Dallas style place, a branch of the Bryan family of Sonny Bryan 's fame. Before the recent Central Texas-influenced BBQ boom, this probably would have been (relatively) high quality, but nowadays you can do better.The sign walking in says best okra in the Westoplex. And the okra was pretty dang good. But when a BBQ place is highlighting their okra and not their meat, it tells you something.The meat wasn 't *bad* but was utterly unremarkable. Friendly and welcoming staff. Quickly served. Very generous portions. Great value. BBQ, as most food, is subjective. Seems that plenty of people liked the food. For me, it was a bit dry and had to rely on the sauce a bit much for my taste. The burnt ends aren’t what I would classify as burnt ends as they are literally the end cuts but not cubed and sauced. Jimmy is the MAN! Love this place old school bbq nothing fancy but great. I order brisket with lots of bark, sausage, fried okra and potato salad. Throw some pickles, onions and jalapeños on the plate and get you some sauce and go to town! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
