As soon as we walked in it took forever to be seated seeing as there was no one even waiting on people to seat them. Finally they came wondering out and seated us but not before we had to wait so long my elderly grandmother had to sit down because she was feeling faint. The service was not good either. The girl waiting on us seemed to have her head in the clouds which was especially evident when 1) I had to ask for a knife for the steak I ordered because they had forgotten to give me one when they gave me my steak and 2) she completely forgot about the fact she had to even grab a knife because my father had to go to where they were working in the back and ask her YET AGAIN to bring out a kni...

I met David the Owner who took the time to speak to me both before and after my luncheon dining experience. This restaurant is a big win for Dothan. The architectural nuances are wonderful.The menu combines well rounded seafood choices with delicious wings, and other favorites. I had a fried grouper sandwich (also offered grilled) and shared chicken wing appetizers and delicious onion rings not overly smothered in crust. My companions enjoyed shrimp gumbo and fried oysters. The prices were comparably reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber. There is a separate full service bar divided by a well designed 3/4 wall. Big screen T.V. 's are located everywhere. During our first visit, we spotted a billboard for this restaurant and asked the hotel staff for their recommendations. Following their suggestion, my wife and I decided to give it a try. Although I currently live in Atlanta, I’m originally from Mississippi and have a refined taste for Mississippi catfish. David's came impressively close to what I remember from home. The food was fantastic, especially the hush puppies served when you first arrive. They contain sweet potatoes and cinnamon sugar, making them taste more like doughnuts. The coleslaw was excellent as well; unlike most places where the slaw can be hit or miss, theirs is spot on. The fish tacos were quite tasty too. The only improvement I can suggest is to use the coleslaw that comes in the bowl on the tacos instead of the one already included. First time at this location. It was an awful experience. Highly understaffed. Our waitress was inexperienced but was trying hard so we weren't critical on that point.All of us got cheese grits and the were lukewarm and runny. However, the coleslaw was good.In the future when we want David's Catfish, we will go to the Andalusia location.

During our quest for delicious food, we stopped by David's Catfish House, and it certainly lived up to our expectations! The sweet hush puppies accompanied by cinnamon butter were absolutely delightful. The service was top-notch, and both the catfish and shrimp were incredibly satisfying.

I will say it was ok. The fish was kinda fishy tasting if that makes sense and the green beans I had tasted like it had a vinegar peppery taste which I'm not a fan of. The wife had the fish and grits that was good except for the strong fish taste. Réservez une table maintenant

Great service and environment! Definitely would recommend for large get togethers and even small outings. And there's something for everyone from chicken to fish to steaks.Kid-friendliness: Staff is so sweet to kids!
