Visiting from out of town and wanted a great place to eat! After reading the reviews here decided this is the spot we wanted to try. We had a late reservation and literally had our suitcases in hand because we didn?t have time to go check our bags, but the hostess let us leave our bags in the front. She was a little hesitant, but kind enough to let us do so. For our appetizer we had the cornbread, but they overcooked it and it tasted burned. We didn?t want to send it backsince we had a 9:00 reservation. I do hate that because the waiter recommended it and we were looking forward to trying it. Service was perfect, except that the notes of our reservation were not delivered to the server. Cocktails were excellent. Wine list did not have many selections under $100 but was par for the course for a steak house. Apps were very good. Sides were excellent. Steaks were a huge disappointment. On the pricey side, which is fine, but the filet was only 1” thick and sad looking. Neither of our steaks was well seasoned. The ribeye was extremely tough and took force to cut and chew, had little flavor other than the bitter crunch of a hard flame sear. Matt was our waiter did an amazing job, was so friendly personable. We had the tuna appetizer shared a porterhouse with fries. All were excellent tasting perfectly cooked. Deacons South is highly consistent- we've been here quite a few times will be coming back for sure.

Great Location! Service was excellent. Our waitress was gracious and kind. The ambiance has a good vibe. I ordered the Heritage Chicken. It was kinda bland and so was the potatoes and mac and cheese. Needs more seasonings.
The quality taste of the food was excellent. The service we received was top notch. I am impressed by the attention to detail from food prep, to etching on steak knives and wine carafes. It's a nice restaurant.
Dinner was fantastic! We ordered the filets, smashed potatoes, collard greens and fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. The flourless chocolate cake was amazing and a plus for a Birthday dessert!
It was a really nice meal. Really enjoyed it. We had deviled eggs, and great seasonal salad. Meat is their expertise and boy it was tender. The dessert was great too. Great all around restaurant.

Wonderful restaurant. Had a unique flight of bourbon with a perfectly grilled steak. Had great company with my wife and friends who also enjoyed the restaurant. What more could you want?
