I have been to Dear Liza a few times and it was OK. This time I found it to be really disappointing. Our waitress was really lovely but the food was very average and the kitchen staff looked bored. I was asked how my meal (which was on the current specials menu) was and told her It was totally different to what was described and It wasn't very nice. She told me she would pass that on. One chef was already standing at the counter packed up and ready to go home while the other was in the courtyard in full view of the diners having a smoke possibly hoping no one ordered dessert so he could leave as well. I went to dear Liza about two weeks ago on a friends recommendation so I did have high standards, when I walked in I had a friendly welcome and the lady took my order straight away but she didn't ask me if I wanted a drink or anything with it and the interaction ended quite abruptly, the burger I ordered took just over half an hour to come which I thought was a little long as the cafe didn't appear to be that busy apart from takeaway coffee, when I got the food I ordered a glass of wine and that didn't arrive till after I had finished the meal. The burger was nice, the service was pleasant but I think they were understaffed so that ruined the experience a little.
Where to start! My friend and I really got the full experience! The jugs of cocktails were the best ones I have had. The calamari was so fresh and tender. The sliders were tasty and the Veggie Patch salad was delicious! We didn't think we could fit in the dessert platter, but we did and it was amazing!! The baked banana with chocolate sauce, the macadamia ice cream, the moreish churros (so, so good) and then there was the creme brûlée - orgasmic (a term I don't use lightly). The staff was great especially the head chef. A fantastic, gourmet evening.
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our visit to Dear Liza! We both ordered from the specials menu - VERY tasty burgers, best I'd had in awhile. The staff were so lovely, offering impeccable service and the restaurant itself has a great vibe. I can't wait to come back and try out the rest of the menu!

I went here for lunch with co-workers. They had a wide selection of food and the price was decent. We all found our food very nice and are looking forward to going back. The waitresses were friendly too. The only downside is if you have to drive here there doesn't look to be a lot of parking.
This is now our 'go to' cafe in St Kilda for coffees and breakfast and the occasional evening meal.This little gem is tucked away and well worth a visit. Busy, fun, good menu, great and friendly service and an all round neat place to visit.
We love going to this little small cafe/restaurant. The staff are great and never rush you out! We can sit here all afternoon and feel relaxed! Food and coffee both high standard. Would recommend this place and will definitely be back!
Called in for brekky while waiting for car hire to open nearby. So glad I did! Great prompt friendly service and made feel very comfortable. Had the corn fritters that were amazing. Thoroughly reccomend .

I visit on an almost daily basis for great coffee and regularly eat here. The food is fantastic and the service outstanding. Indoor and outdoor seating options.
