If a place does what to do and does it well, I am willing to overlook some problems. Deb Pam is a perfect example. I stayed here late Sunday afternoon on the way home from a Jersey Shore walk, a kind of sweet Italian pastries. I was once or twice in the course of the years at the Irish dipping bar Murph's), but never in the bakery. Aesthetically smart, Deb Pam could use some work. It is quite Drab and a corner of the Filialfront had cleaning equipment and various items only occupy space, not especially hospitable. When I came in, there were two employees behind the counter, an older woman and the other one a young adult. Both stared at me, said nothing, and went back to purify in mild defense, it was towards the end of the day, which is not exactly an ideal bakery time). After one minute or two of the examination of the articles in the display counter, the older woman finally recognized my presence and provided support. I went impulsively with a homemade black and white biscuits $2), which looked more appetizing than the plastic wrapped Pre made, which I always saw in NYC Bodegas. It was very tasty the texture was what I remembered from the lower quality versions, crunchy with harder icing, but it really hit the spot. I think the expectations should be reduced a bit if you go to a bakery later a day, although these establishments should also consider that these items offer at a discounted price if you were at a certain point in the afternoon, if they did not still bake fresh inventory), but I would have been perfectly satisfied with this cookie on a morning visit. It didn't take more than a few minutes. The price is super competitive for the area a similar cookie on the Calandra's Bakery in Fairfield would have been about twice as expensive if no more. The night of the staff leaves much to be desired, but you know what? If the product is good, I don't have to shower with constant love and affection.
Beautiful dessert offers from one of the small local bakeries in NJ. I've been hooked to her cheesecake since college when my roommate brought you to the dorm. Not a simple place for me because I don't go to NY and live. So it is a treat every time someone can bring me back some of these desserts from NJ. Most of the elements in the attached photos require a preceding call, as they are not normally displayed. Mini apple sales, cupcakes and Napoleon cheesecakes are usually available without previous order. The others like the mini cheesecake, the lime cake and the small apple cake must be called forward. I wanted small portions so I could take a little of everything: I am lactose intolerant, so I always take an lactaid pill before I eat most of these. The mini apple sales are the only one I can eat without my lactaid pills. But the creamy goodness of the others is completely worth it. It's been for many years since college, her cheesecake is still my favorite all the time. Also in comparison to some of the well-known chains that specialize in cheesecakes and some of the fancier restaurants, their cheese cake can keep its own. As a rule, they always have simple for walkable orders available. If you don't want to spread on a dessert like me and just try one thing, the cheesecake would be my recommendation. Very cheap, the mini cheesecake was $3. Definitely worth a visit when you are in the area, especially if you are like me and are used to make a “midtown premium” on foods and desserts that are not even half as good as these. Call ahead if you want something special, their hours and dessert offers for walk-in orders could be limited due to the pandemic at the moment. I usually say a few days in advance if I want something from this bakery.
We have had the strawberry cheesecake over the years. Hands down it is THE best cheesecake you will ever eat! We purchased another one to share with a few family members in our bubble this year and we were once again NOT disappointed! Thank you for a pure taste of wonderful!
