"This is our favourite Exchange District spot for dinner. The menu is inventive and full of delicious dishes with clearly creative elements to them. It is obvious that designing interesting dishes is a passion of the chef. They rotate their menu well, so there's usually something new to try. Worth a visit and worth going regularly to try all the changes! Keep it up D&A!"

Today was my Birthday celebration and we went to enoteca first and cause there was an hour and a half wait we decided to call ahead and see if we could get into D and A. I wish I had waited. We arrived around 715pm and the person on the phone was nice enough to accommodate us and have a table waiting for when we arrived. We were introduced to our server who was great at the start and we got drinks and our food order taken, things were off to a good start. Then the food started arriving. Years ago was my first experience at this restaurant and it was arguably the best in the city, the food was seasoned well, the dishes worked well and there was surprises in the bites that made me want to go back for that next bite in hopes of finding that next surprise. This time it was food dressed up with things that seemed to be there to finish this dish not cause they worked. We order nearly the whole menu between our group and it was said multiple times that I wish I had salt at the table, we would have gladly asked if the server had come around more than once every 30-45 minutes. All I can say is that this was a huge miss, We had empty drinks all night without anyone asking if we want more, we would order 4 courses at a time and they would take upwards of an hour to come out during the worst part, and the servers/bartenders were polishing cutlery while we looked over awkwardly hoping that somebody would apologize for the wait and let us know what was going on and possibly bring us something to drink. All I can say is I will not be going back there, for a birthday dinner I am so happy that the company was enjoyable cause without that the night would have been a waste of time. With a price tag over over 300 bucks you figure they would at least ask how everything was. What a miss, I suggest you not waste your time until they figure some stuff out. Wait for a few good posts before heading to this restaurant.

I decided to walk from the hotel to the restaurant. The downtown, particularly the exchange district where the restraint is a bit seedy, mainly because people don't live in the area. You will pas by drunks and drug addicts who will ask for money.A cop told me to take a cab back at night, but the bartender at the restaurant said it's not that bad. A bit over exaggerated. If you are nervous, then don't walk there.Open seating area with seating along the bar. The chairs were a bit uncomfortable I will admit. The service and food are however very good.I had the Deer tartare with blueberry, buckwheat, hollandaise, salt & vinegar chips. $1 for this dish is donated to local charity. It's an interesting twist to top it with a sauce instead of the traditional French style capers etc.Next was the Salt & pepper squid. Blistered peppers & onions, chilli vinegar. The chilli vinegar is for dipping. A nice twists again.Nice old fashioned, $11, reasonable. Wine list was small but decent and the damage was not too bad.

Really enjoyed our meal. All plates are for sharing. We started out with the hearts of romaine which has cashew dressing, pistachio, roasted garlic, Serrano. Then we had the pork chop which was the special, the presentation was amazing and so delicious. For dessert we had semifreddo which is peanut, caramel, chocolate cake, and salt. So yummy. We had an early reservations at 5:00 pm so it wasn't too loud and service was very good, not too fast and not too slow; we don't like to rush. The atmosphere was nice, and is very casual. I would definitely recommend.

We came here on a recommendation and really enjoyed our meal. Most plates are meant to be shared. We had the deer tartare, which was something new for us but quite enjoyable. We also shared the salmon croquettes and duck breast, which were both specials. Overall, food was tasty and well prepared, and service was very good. Prices were a bit high, so I would think this would be a good place for a special night out
