So, I get it... the idea behind the theme is food from the Colombian heartland. Very humble food w basic flavors. BUT, it doesn't have to be this bare basic. I paid $10.50 for a plate of pollo en salsa. Or pollo guisado, or pollo hervido, boiled, or something... easily the worst chicken plate I ever had. Note for owners: If you use old or spoiled meat, it will still smell badno matter how you cook it...And that was $10.50 thank you!.Maybe Saturdays is not their best day, I don't know. But I do know this, the food does not represent Colombia... sorry, you got my 10.50, but you won't get one more single penny or the new clients I would send your way...
If you're craving Colombian food, this restaurant has some good options, but not everything is flavorful based on our experience. My husband ordered a chicken soup that lacked taste; it had a nice drumstick, but otherwise was quite bland. The 'empanadas de carne' (meat pastries) are delicious, and we often purchase them. The meat and rib soup is very tasty, but we found the portion size to be a bit small and wished for a larger serving. They do serve rice on the side, which is a nice touch. Additionally, it's worth noting that they close early, so dinner isn’t an option here.
Delicious, incredibly affordable grandma grandpa owned, authentic Colombian cafe deli. Colombian coffee is incredible, beef empanadas are delicious, tripe soup is perfection, and all served with a warm smile. Support small business!!! Reminds me of breakfast cafes when I visited Cartagena. Shocked at how affordable everything is!
I ordered sides of frijoles, arroz, y tostones. The arroz and frijoles didn't taste like anything. The tostones must have been from the night before. All crisppp, no flavor. My friend's salad was good.

I had the delicious Chorizo with Arepa Paisa, and I couldn't help but order it a second time. The service was excellent, and the prices are fantastic!
We had empanadas, cheese arepas, and a homemade spicy sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious! The service was excellent as well—very friendly!
We enjoyed pandebono, huevos pericos, arepas, and coffee. The food was authentically homemade, just like in Colombia.
