Visited this small, but very friendly cafe, whilst on a visit to Garstang with my son. It was a terrible wet day and we wanted something to warm us up. It was busy as lunchtime but the ladies quickly found us a table at the back. We were shown the menu on the blackboard on the wall. My son had a sausage sandwich on a white bun the quality of the ingredients was very good. I chose the hot beef and onion sandwich, which contained plenty of meat and onions. We were both offered condiments, but declined. I did think the food was overpriced as literally a sandwich on a plate with very little presentation maybe a few crisps or garnish could be added. My partner had been to this restaurant twice before and recommended we visit, as she had not been feeling well and hadn't eaten anything noteworthy all week. This place was bustling and for good reason. I had a fantastic quiche and she enjoyed a superb ham salad, both with a wide variety of salad ingredients that were self-assembled at a salad bar near our table. The fact that everything was prepared in view of the customers is a standout feature. The service was outstanding, with friendly and helpful staff. The cafe was very busy on market day, with a small size and a queue of 4/5 people waiting for takeaways. While the bustling atmosphere is good for business, it can be stressful for customers. The food was good, but the portion size of the quiche salad was small. Despite this, the quiche was tasty and excellent. Unfortunately, there were issues with the service as the owner and his daughter seemed to be bickering with each other. This made for an uncomfortable dining experience. The daughter also spoke rudely to a customer over the price and then proceeded to complain about him to other customers after he left, which was unacceptable. This was our first visit for a light lunch. The roasted cauliflower and Stilton soup was delicious! The hot roast beef and onion sandwiches so tasty! The lemon meringue finished off a wonderful mouth explosion of flavours. Our tea was served in a china teapot with china cups and refills. A small family run deli cafe offering quality food in a cosy friendly environment. We are regulars here and enjoy the soups, the roast beef and onion sandwiches and quiche salads especially. For desserts there are normally a range of cakes tarts, and of course Gwen's famous blueberry scones. Well behaved dogs are welcome too. Downsides opening hours are short, and payment by cash only.
Visited Garstang for the first time today and came across the cafe. What an absalute find. The food was Absalutely outstanding and the portions were huge. As for the staff well they were just fabulous. Great customer service from start to finish. You must be very proud of an absalute fantastic cafe. We will definitely be returning Thanku again
Another lunch time visit (takeaway). The cafe has had a bit of a decorate rework looks much better. I think there is now a little more seating inside, which is a good move. Homemade quiche salad, excellent. My only observation is that the salad portion size was definitely smaller this time than any other visit. Staff very friendly.
This friendly cafe offers quick and efficient service, high quality ingredients, and reasonable prices. The Quiche and mixed salads are fantastic, and my wife enjoyed a superb roast beef sandwich. The coffee and tea are very good, and the staff is great. A must-visit spot in Garstang!

Lovely take away quiche salad. Good sized portion for £8.50 all really good. The range of salad is really good varied. Cafe itself is small, but we’ll done.
