What a sad experience. We had a large party and a 6:30pm reservation made almost two months ago. We arrived on time but weren’t seated until 7:15 and then only after we were forced to ask for a manager’s intervention. Two of our nine meals were improperly prepared and the same disinterested manager passed our concerns off as “out of her control” … but not before adding a “mandatory” 20% gratuity to our bill. My wife and I ate dinner here before going to a KU basketball game. While we were in a bit of a hurry, we certainly enjoyed the atmosphere and the quick and friendly staff. She got the hot Hawaiian burger and I got the Reuben and we split two orders of fries — sweet potato fries and “fire” fries. Appetizers were great but 3/4 of our main dishes were really poorly made. I wouldn't think Mac and cheese and chicken tenders could be screwed up so badly! The Mac was sour and had the smallest portion I've ever seen in American food, and the chicken was way overcooked/dry. Atmosphere was lovely though.
We enjoyed a Sunday evening meal. We had a hamburger fries meal and a fish chips meal (pretty sure the fries are hand cut! . Great food, homemade tartar sauce, great buffalo sauce, awesome servers, and fun atmosphere. One block over from Mass and worth the walk.

Overall, the food is fantastic. However, it's the truffle fries and their dipping sauces that keep bringing me back to Dempsey's time and time again. You won't regret dining here!
Well not bad, but it's still no burger stand. Stopped in because of the snow globe pop up. If I'm there for burgers, it's go to the burger stand.
