Mind-blowing day trip. Cabanas on the beach on on the grass. Great finger food and Descanso beach theme named spirits. Attentive wait staff. Definitely plan ahead for day trip or possibly overnight stay. Check the Avalon weather forecast and pack for hot and breezy weather. The best escape from city life. Perfect day for sun bathing by either laying on the beach or walking and taking in the sights. Bring sunblock because even if it's overcast, those ultraviolet rays will still tan your hide lol. I had a wonderful experience at Descanso Beach! Renting a cabana was a bit pricey at about $350, but it provided a private space for six people, making it worth it for a relaxing day. The beach club opens at 11 a.m. and closes around 4 p.m. Our server was very attentive and frequently checked in on us, which we appreciated. It was also a plus that he spoke Spanish, as it made my parents feel more comfortable. We ordered two buckets of beer, each containing six beers, for a total of $96, along with a few other drinks. Overall, it was an expensive outing, but if you can afford it, I highly recommend it!

This was my first time visiting, and it was truly a delight. The food and the view made for a wonderful experience. While the cabanas are priced at $60 each, the outdoor seating offers just as beautiful a view, which is what I chose. I tried the blood orange drink, got a Shirley Temple for the kids, and ordered nachos. Everything was absolutely delicious! If you're in Avalon, you must check this place out! I've dined at several restaurants on the island, and this one is the best I've encountered so far. I highly recommend it!

On Descanso Beach we had a cabana to relax on the beach for our experience on Catalina Island. The service was great and very relaxing. The beach even offered Wifi so we were able to stream some music easily as well which I thought was cool. I really enjoyed the Cabana Colada the dark rum float, whipped cream, and pineapple was very delicious in the blend they had served. I had a wonderful visit to the Descanso Beach Club bar! The salsa that came with the chips was fantastic. Even though it wasn't peak season, most of the tables were occupied. The beach had some rocky areas near the water, so I chose not to go in. I would recommend bringing water shoes for a safer experience. However, the part of the beach that was farther from the water was beautifully sandy. It's the perfect spot to relax by the beach and enjoy some good food!

Beachy fun. Great location on Catalina Island. Bar and seating is on the beach. So nice. Cabana rentals look beautiful. I’m sure if it’s a sunny day this place is amazing. Sadly we hit it on a cold windy day. Excellent nachos. Enjoyed by all. Cocktails ok. Skinny margarita good. Not great. You don’t have to pay for the beach fee if you eat at the bar/restaurant.

Walked to the Beach Club from Downtown Avalon. Really nice atmosphere and just gorgeous setting. Ordered lunch and drinks at beach bar. We had an enjoyable time sitting outside on a beautiful day just relaxing. Dont know if it is off se3, but beach bar closed at 3pm, which seemed bit early as place was pretty full. Very nice day and recommend a stop here.
