Leicester has a plethora of established and new Indian dining choices, in particular the “ pub curry” types of which this is one. I had wanted to visit here for quiet a while and quiet frankly, I wish I hadn’t. Firstly the positives.. There aren’t any. Now the rest.. This place doesn’t accept cards. Cash only. So one of us had to leave the restaurant and find a cash point and then come back. This is 2022, not 1974. We were seated in what is effectively a pub. Nothing wrong with that. Except we were placed in the immediate vicinity of the rather unsavoury locals who only drink here and subjected to some pretty disgusting language. I ordered my food at 6:30pm and was quoted 40 minutes for collection. I had planned to leave in the next 10 mins or so as it would have taken me 30 minutes to get there and get cash out as they don’t accept card. Within 10 minutes I received a call saying my food was ready. I then had to rush to drive there knowing that my food was sat going cold as they quoted me the wrong time. When I got there the man told me it wasn’t ready, despite calling me and saying it was. I asked to speak to the manager and was then surrounded by 6 men who were clearly trying to intimidate me being a small woman on my own. I live near this restaurant and decided to try it based on recommendations from some of my Asian friends. The interior of the restaurant is quite nice, with a well-organized layout and plenty of space. There is a small bar area and plenty of tables for dining. The place appeared to be clean and well-maintained. However, during my visit, I was taken aback by the excessive and loud swearing coming from the bar area. Trying to find something positive to say but it’s very difficult after the disappointing meal we’ve just received. The “ onion salad” was just badly chopped raw onion, the curries were awful... so salty to be almost inedible and the onion bajhis were falling apart...a waste of £35 as most of it went in the bin, along with the menu to make sure we don’t order from here again :

Nice environment and decent service/food however need to sort out location of the pool table and the dart board. Me and friends fancied playing both but pool table situated next to a pillar so impossible to play a shot from that side AND there was a dining table in front of the dart board so could not play. Sort that out and it would validate further the name of the venue
Food was bland and not spicy at all, only decent thing was the chilli mogo and paneer. Waited nearly an hour to get mains after starters, so the service was slow and disappointing. I'd heard good things before I went but was not impressed on my first (and last) visit.
I ordered takeout from this restaurant after learning that it had new management. The service was quick, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the new chef and the Bawarchi team to everyone in the Oadby area.
Never received order. Unable to contact them. Have to complain to bank to receive refund. I tried multiple times to contact you and unable to get through. Really poor service and unprofessional.

I tried this restaurant for takeout last week for the first time. It was excellent, I couldn't fault it. The food was hot, well packed, and the sizzling platter starter was lovely.
