I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this restaurant was part of the inn. The decor was lovely, and the staff was very friendly. However, I was a bit disappointed with the menu selections, especially considering it’s advertised as an Italian bistro. For example, there was no veal or traditional Italian dishes available, which made the menu feel limited to me. That said, the food was quite good. Overall, it's a nice place to stop by if you're in the area.
First timers on a Sunday late afternoon. Restaurant was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Food was good basic fare: Pasta Bolognese was good, shrimp were unfortunately overdone, pork chops were very good. Host and waiter were fine. Enjoyed a nice bottle of wine with dinner. A relaxed and pleasant experience for all.
This was our first visit, and we were celebrating three family birthdays. Everyone in our group enjoyed the restaurant's ambiance, the service, and the food. Each of us tried something different from the menu, and there were fantastic lunch options available. We will definitely be returning. It’s a real gem!
Dining at Desmond's is so comfortable....relaxed, nice ambiance, and you never feel rushed. Very conducive to conversation..no loud craziness going on, despite a wedding taking place on the floor above. Excellent wine list, always a great dinner special, and friendly server.
