Detroit Coney Island

We ordered three Big Boys, two fries, one onion ring, a Walleye platter, and three hot dogs, which came to $98. I'm not sure if they have new ownership or if they altered the recipes, but the quality has definitely changed. When I asked for tartar sauce for the Big Boys, I received the standard tartar sauce you find at any fish restaurant. They claim to have the Frisch's tartar sauce, but it's nowhere near what it used to be at their original location and is nothing like the authentic version from up north. For those who know, dipping fries in their sauce was a highlight, but sadly, that’s not an option now. We left feeling disappointed. It wasn't just the atmosphere; the changes they made...

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The staff was friendly, professional, and exceptionally attentive. We savored some delicious loose Italian sausage, a Coney dog, and fries, all made in the classic Detroit Coney style. It was absolutely wonderful! I didn’t get a chance to try the Bumpy Chocolate Cake, but I’ll make sure to get it next time, as we will definitely be coming back. They also offer Saunders and Faygo drinks, which is a nice touch. Keep up the great work—I’ll be recommending this place to all my friends!

I'm not sure why they relocated from Palm Harbor. Who in the area is going to deal with the traffic to come here now? We arrived an hour before closing, and no one was willing to serve us; they were too busy on their phones, showing no concern whatsoever. The place was empty... they really should just shut it down. Moving here was a poor decision. How many ice cream shops does Clearwater Beach really need? Plus, this spot isn't even on the beach or the main strip. It's pretty pointless.

We've been missing Coney dogs since our move from Michigan! The only thing is, my husband likes his dogs cooked well, almost burnt! We're going back today and plan to ask them to put them back on the grill. Otherwise, we loved everything—Faygo soda, cream puffs, and hot fudge, all delicious! We’ve been missing Coney dogs since moving from Michigan! My husband really prefers his dogs well done (almost burnt!), so we’re heading back today to ask the staff to put them back on the grill for him. I was delighted to find a restaurant that reminded me of home. Savoring a bowl of Lemon Rice Soup, a couple of Detroit Coneys, some fries, and a Vernor's was exactly what I needed. Thank you for this nostalgic experience!

I enjoyed some excellent chili dogs, and the fries were nice and crispy. To finish off the meal, I indulged in a Sanders hot fudge sundae. Everything was delicious and brought back memories of Detroit. Réservez une table maintenant

Customers arrived arguing in the parking lot and continued with sarcastic comments inside, which shifted the atmosphere from friendly to tense.
