Went expecting a high end restaurant with the corresponding food and service and was disappointed on all ends. I ordered a martini rosso as initial drink and it was served in a small glass with an ice cube from the automatic ice cube maker from the fridge. The menu was in German and when asked for an English version, the translation was terrible and we were not advised of the daily specials. The salad we ordered was basic and boring. The soup excellent. Our seconds were terrible. My cordon bleu was cooked from frozen and leaked water every time I poked my knife in it. Unacceptable! We were staying in Weitersburg and found this place on Trip Advisor. The staff were very patient with our inability to speak much German with regard to questions about the menu. However, it does not really matter because we ordered 4 different items and they were all excellent. I truly enjoyed the salmon (Latz) and my wife had the special which was a local fish from the Rhine River. My son stated his meatballs were the best he has ever had. Parking is difficult but I found a spot on a street near enough as there small parking lot was filled.
This is a good restaurant for a special occasion. Located in historical building,very well maintained, small restaurant. We were lucky to get a table without reservation because it was very busy on Friday evening for a small town like Vallendar. The menu is very much traditional german, focusing on seasonal food. Nice presentation, big portions but it was a bit salty for me.. Nevertheless, the prices were quite high but worth it.
After accessing the site of this restaurant, I went to Die Traube waiting a lot. And I wasn't deceived. The food was delicious, the wines, a Riesling suggested by them and the dessert wine, were fantastic and the cheese plate wonderful. Although the menu is in German and the staff speaks only in German, they brought a dictionary and were very nice trying to explain it to us.

The owners take very good care of this Restaurant which is located in a house that was build in the mid-1600s. The food is absolutely excellent, the wines too. However, prices also reflect this, but the quality justifies the price Level. Let the owner advise you on wines from the Mosel!
The food, the service and the ambiance was excellent. We loved the traditional German environment. Despite the prices being a bit high, I would highly recommend it - especially to tourists.
Restaurant with classic German atmosphere and matching food. Lunch specials are always a good deal, especially the fish on Fridays. Some staff could be more friendly.
Die Traube serves very delicious German food and especially the lunch table is great value for money and the dishes change every day. Definitely worth trying!
