I'm not a big fan of fancy places in general but this was a pleasant surprise. Honestly, when I and my friends came into the place we weren't sure if it was a cafe or a restaurant. However, when we asked about food, the waitress...was pleasant and spoke English, even translating the menu for us. Two of us had the burger and the other two had the fish. Everything was quite tasty and I'd give the burger a B as an American that loves a good burger. The atmosphere was nice and we enjoyed a lovely evening outside on the patio. This place is new, nice and has a great selection of wines, but it's Bavaria so there is always beer.

Wir waren auf der Suche nach kulinarischem Neuland in Oberstaufen und Umgebung und stießen auf diesen Geheimtipp. Ob im Freien oder drinnen der modern-rustikale Charme des Hauses lädt sofort ein zum Abschalten und Wohlfühlen. Der Service ist herzlich und immer sehr zuvorkommend. Die Speisen waren auf dem höchsten Niveau welches man in der Region finden kann... sehr fantasiereich, gekonnt zusammen gestellt und geschmackvoll. Für uns war es ein wirklich besonders schöner Abend und wir kommen gern wieder!

We had dinner one night at this restaurant. The staff was very pleasant and it is a nice an modern place which is rare in Oberstaufen. Good service and decent wines. Unfortunately, there is room for improvement with the food. My Maultaschen pasta had an...overpowering spice in it that made them taste like dishsoap, the Wild Boar was pretty tough and my husband's fish was breaded and oily. The salad was delicious and the slow cooked beef that we were given as compensation was a delight.

It was a really gastronomic experience. I do recommend this restaurant. My husband and I looked for options without much expectation and suddenly we surprise ourselves by the highest quality. Both on the menu and also in the service.

What a beautiful night we had at Die Speissekammer. We have chosen dishes with wines selected by the waiter. Really nice experience with wonderful wines! Really recommended
