we were in this restaurant several times. eating and service were always very nice. not the best, but certainly good enough to return several times. the last two times were not so good. eating is cold and. the waiting time is then clearly longer. I know with the pandemic it is harder for restaurants, but this last meal was really bad. 2 of the meal sat on a heating device (probably waited to cook 2 further meal times). they were burned down and the hunch was very dry and hard. a meal was missing, but we could share from the other meal times, so nobody went hungry. we had to reheat the meal as they were cold. Paige was the best server! She came by our table multiple times to check how everything was. The customer service was amazing; keeping up small talk and remembering our whole order. We regularly visit Dinaki 's for special occasions. This time we were celebrating my birthday. We had found in our files a coupon about 4 years old but with no expiry date shown, offering date night special for a great price. Our server checked with the...manager, who agreed to honor this coupon. As usual, our food was excellent well prepared, served at the right time and temperature, and with large portions. Our server was very attentive, and brought our various courses in good time. The placw was very busy not unusual! and we noticed a number of food delivery drivers picking up take out food during our visit. Yes, we 'll be back!
I made a reservation shortly before the Friday evening rush at this restaurant. The phone service was good, with a reminder call a few minutes before my estimated arrival time. The location was easy to find and the restaurant itself was very aesthetically pleasing. The food was still hot when I arrived home. The standout dish was definitely the calamari. The other items we ordered, such as the pilaf, bratkartoffeln, Greek salad, and Caesar salad, were average in terms of taste. Called in a pickup order just before the Friday late afternoon diiner rush. Telephone service was good. Arrived a few minutes before the estimated ready time. Pleased to find their timing was spot on. Premises are very nice. Food was hot when back home. The...best tasting item was their calamari. Many other aspects (pilaf, roast potatoes, greek and caesar salads) were average, i.e. OK in taste. Parking can be a challenge depending on time of day and the strip mall hours of the retail stores.
Dinakis is a hidden gem located in a strip mall in Port Coquitlam. With a large menu, fantastic service, an excellent wine selection, and a relaxed atmosphere, what more could you ask for? Definitely worth trying for appetizers, lunch, or dinner! They can accommodate medium-sized groups and provide excellent service.
