I had given dnisi in Alloa a 5-star review 11 months ago, as the food, drinks, and service were all excellent. However, I am now only giving it 2 stars because my last visit was disappointing. The salad was brown and wilted, while the portion of coleslaw was very small, barely a teaspoon worth. The coleslaw was made with cauliflower and carrots, not high-quality ingredients, so I don't understand why they couldn't be more generous with it. The coffee was also subpar. This was my first visit to the cafe since it underwent a recent makeover. The service was good, with coffee and cake being served promptly. The staff also brought food and drink to customers if they wished. The makeover was a massive improvement, making the cafe much brighter and more spacious. The background music was fine, not too loud. In terms of value for money, a large cappuccino and iced biscuit cost £7.50, which I found to be reasonable. I have always been a fan of D'nisi, especially this location in Stranraer. I used to cycle here often before it underwent a refurbishment. During my first visit since the reopening, I was pleased to see that the makeover was a success. The cafe now feels much brighter and more spacious. The cakes and snacks continue to outshine the competition as always. However, I was a bit disappointed with the size of my flat white coffee. While it was excellent in flavour, there wasn't much of it. I appreciate smaller servings, but this flat white was barely larger than an espresso. Overall, just a bit more coffee would have been appreciated.
This restaurant has amazing food! The entire experience from beginning to end is fantastic, with a waitress who is always friendly and kind. The food is top-notch and the portion sizes are fair for the prices. It's always a great place to enjoy a delicious meal. I can't wait to return to Alloa to dine at Dnisi again! Used love coming here when we visit family however the coffee and scone has lost its gloss. The Royal Scones are still good but the tiny jar of jam and clotted cream is too small. But worse than that is the quality of coffee which is now bitter and unpalatable. Sadly, I won’t be back despite a love of those scones.
I love these caffeine toasties are delicious and loaded with filling. the koleslaw is so creamy and crispy, I ordered more. the personal is so beautiful, attentive and friendly. the dnisi own brand coffee I had as cappuccino is one of the best of all time! I was stuffed and happy when I could thank you!
