Dolce Vita - Réserver une table

While we received our starter promptly , the main course took a considerable length of time... 1hour., We had seen a number of tables arriving after us, served their main courses before us without incident. After an hour the manager who took our order arrived with some of the table meals and a pizza on hand and asked one of my guests what she had ordered! Then moments later a more junior waiter arrived and said that the manager had made a mistake and would my guest like to order a different meal . MY guest clarified the length of time the meal could arrive and was told 5 to 7 minutes but was again encouraged to change the order.My guest decided not to change the order which did come in about ten minutes but was inedible. We refused desert and coffee and were offered the bill which came without any deduction or acknowledgement of delay/ poor service.We asked to speak to the manager and he dodged us and sent another waiter. At this stage we said we would pay the bill but not the order which was late, inedible and which was not fully consumer. At this stage the manager did come and shouted abuse at us in front of a full restaurant of people.We kept our cool. He threatened to call the police unless we made a full payment. We said we had no objection to the police being called and he asked us to call the police. He also said restaurants always make mistakes and that we should make allowances and pay for his mistake.After several more minutes of load abuse from him he grabbed the bill and reduced it by the amount of the offensive meal. We paid the balance and left with every eye in the place fixed on us.

As for me, roses is a french tourist destination and this restaurant is a perfect representation of what you can find if u don’t pay attention. It’s the perfect tourist scam: Starter: « pan con tomato », without any salt or pepper, with a soft wet bread, and tomatoes are roughly cut, all for 8€

Food is usually good but the service is awful. The waiters are simply rude despite the fact that we were coming every other day. The managers should monitor the treatment of waiters towards clients because they show zero client orientation

We stopped here for lunch , being gluten free I always ask what foods are suitable and the staff were very helpful to the point of checking all the ingredients in the salad I ordered even though we could see that they were very busy.
