We decided to give the Big Island another shot at making a good Mai Tai after the disappointing experience we had at Huggo's. Dolphin Spit Saloon certainly did not let us down. The Mai Tai was twice the size, cost half as much, and tasted fantastic—truly restored my faith! Dolphin Spit knows what they're doing! It's a straightforward, no-frills saloon with a friendly staff, and that's exactly what we appreciated.
I don't have much to say since we only stopped in for a quick drink, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a Mexican-themed bar in Hawaii. It kind of felt like a little taste of home, haha. The place has a nice open patio with tables and a bar top, and the drink we had was really good.
I absolutely love this place! Nina, the fantastic bartender, is not only hilarious but also incredibly quick. It's a great open bar with wonderful patrons, and it creates a safe space where everyone feels welcome.
