We stumbled (literally) upon this lovely spot while biking (slowly) back to our guest apartment on the Kaulberg in Bamberg this summer. What a gem! You would never guess how charming the interior and terrace are from the street. Once inside you're in for a treat! We were fortunate to happen by on warm August evening, which meant we could take full advantage of the beautifully situated terrace. The view across a woody ravine towards the cathedral really is fantastic. My husband and I had already eaten dinner, so we just ordered drinks and shared some tapas. My rosé was perfect, my husband's locally brewed beer refreshing and the tapas beautifully done. Service was friendly and prompt. Prices...
We were staying in an Airbnb up the street and our host recommended this place. About 6 months ago, the cuisine switched from German to Mediterranean (Greek). We had baked feta, stuffed grape leaves, metaxa gyros, and souvlaki stuffed with feta which came with round puffed homemade fries. Everything was delicious. They squeezed us in without reservations, which was a good thing since they had to move people off their beautiful terrace due to a thunderstorm. They even offered us complimentary ouzo. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Older reviews that were less than desirable were probably when they were newer and working out their routine.
A local gentleman reccomended this place to us, also because of the view on the Bamberg Dom. We enjoyed not only the view, but also the food and the friendly service. The restaurant, named "Leo", is walking distance from the busier center of Bamberg, uphill, a few meters away from the ancient Carmeliten Kloster. Really worth the small "detour"!
a beautiful place with a very good view. nice service that recommends good dishes. I had the red wine... good choice. the appetizer was very good, even a large portion. the main dish was excellent, a mixed grill. the part was as mentioned in another evaluation.

very nice and friendly recipe. the red house wine we really found well and would recommend it at any time. that was delicious. service was top, as well as price performance. we really can't complain.
Went there with some friends, looking for some real German food.....and we found it! Excellent food, excellent beers, excellent sight, excellent price. If possible, I will return!
In a few words, after 40 minutes of expectation and still no trace of food on our table. Nice view on Dom doesn't work anymore. You've got to be kidding us!
