Visited don Coqui to celebrate my daughters hs graduation with my family. Party of 23, the service was fine the waitress did her best to accommodate our needs. The food was terrible. I order the seafood Paella. Shrimp was overcooked they cooked the yellow rice and then threw the seafood on top of it. That is not how Paella is traditionally made. They forgot to add the chicken and chorizo I brought it to the waitress attention she apologies then brought me a side order of chicken and chorizo. I will never eat at this place again. Now I understand why it was empty when I arrived. They charge a lot of tips and the food is not boric at all. And they are smart when it comes to charging for that, so now I understand why they are closing them everywhere. Be very careful, the tip they charge you is exaggeratedly high, the tax and for every glass of soda you drink they charge you 5.00 dollars and the worst thing is when it comes time to charge you they charge you more. Be careful with this.
I visited during clubbing hours, and it was a terrible experience. The music was excessively loud and poorly mixed; all I could hear was heavy bass and a horn blaring every five seconds. The DJ was disappointing as well. To make matters worse, one of the staff members kept trying to get me to take a shot, and a friend cautioned me not to do it since I'd have to pay right away. Overall, I'd recommend Club Whiskey instead.

The atmosphere is quite dark, and there isn't a menu sign displayed outside. Surprisingly, it was empty for a Friday night. This restaurant used to be good, and I really hope they manage to improve. I know the one in New Rochelle has closed, and I believe the other location in City Island has also shut down. To top it off, the drink I had was terrible, and the bar seemed poorly stocked.
My husband and I went for drinks but the place was so empty I was shocked. The drinks were good but we didn't stay more than 10 mins unfortunately. I use to love that place so maybe it was just a slow night. I would try to go back again.
