I went here with my niece. It was her first time trying certain foods so we really enjoyed our experience. We went at lunchtime, around 1 pm, but it was quite busy. The service was great but a little slower than normal, simply because they were busy. The chef gave us a house sushi roll on the house which was completely unexpected but greatly appreciated. We left full and happy. The lunch menu was a great way to try a little bit of everything too. Highly recommend the deep fried cheesecake for dessert! We enjoyed quick service, delicious food, and friendly staff. Dining out has become quite pricey these days, so we don’t do it often, but we decided to treat ourselves this month with a lunch date. For just the two of us, it came to around $100 including tip. Was it worth it? Absolutely! We visited on a Wednesday at 3 PM, and there was only one other patron in the restaurant, which allowed us to complete our meal in just 30 minutes. While some might find it affordable, we consider these outings to be special treats.
Every time I am in town, I try to eat at this wonderful Sushi restaurant. They have something for everyone, and they have a huge selection of rolls, cooked hot Japanese food, lots of appetizers, and great service! The Teriyaki chicken has a delicious, charred flavor and the best sauce. Everything is always cooked perfectly and the sushi is very fresh. The portions are very good size. I think this is a Hidden Gem in Lompoc, and if you are looking for great sushi, try it out!
I'm writing this review in my car after demolishing my Dong Hae house rolls because that's how good they were.This is my second time at Dong Hae and it's been great both times, although the house rolls were significantly more memorable.This place has come a long way from being a Wienerschnitzel. The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered teriyaki chicken with dumplings, a spicy tuna hand roll, a Hawaiian roll, and mussels, and everything was perfect. From the exquisite food to the relaxing music that created a great atmosphere and the quick service, everything exceeded our expectations. The chef was amazing and even surprised us with a complimentary plate of sushi.
