I've been here since I was a little kid, and the atmosphere is very welcoming and covered. Take you back to the time with the vibe. The grill is visible so that you can see the cooks prepare your meals. You have so many options for food and even many children options and even serve ice cream as well! The employees were asked to serve their customers and very friendly for me and others. They offer both indoor bar stool style, stand and tables as well as many outdoor seating facilities, so choose a place you like and enjoy their delicious menu items. Don's Originals has been around since 1945, and it's a classic dive diner. The burgers, hot dogs, fries, and custard are all delicious. My wife and I ordered the "big" plate (also known as a garbage plate), and it had a fantastic meaty flavor paired with relish. The steak fries and macaroni salad were just right without being drenched in mayo. The service was quick, and the waitstaff were all incredibly cheerful! Prices are comparable to Bill Gray's, with the plate costing $11.99. Overall, it was a great lunch, and I would definitely recommend it!
The best burgers everywhere. I've never found a better burger place than this Don's original on Lake Ontario. I always order a cheeseburger on the hard roll with everything except onions. Free pickles on the site are also great. Many times I hear people say they don't live in the Rochester area anymore, but make it a point to go there. Me too. Don's great. I love the place personally. It's my favorite local burger connection. I always get the floor steak food and that's a little over $11. Straw steak, fries and a drink. They offer hard or soft roll and either grilled or from the Char for your hamburger. But... they are also known for their rib eye steak sandwiches. It's competition next store gets a lot of hype, but Don's is the hidden gem. Try it.
