Bottom Line Up Front: Great high quality local Bavarian food served in a very family style that feels like you just ate a lovely family dinner at home!Pros: The food is great value for money and doesn't sacrifice taste or freshness. Although small inside area you feel welcome and even sharing a table becomes part of your experience. We had three (3) children with us too - 8-6-1- and were treated like family even though it was only our first visit. The wonderful server even surprised our boys with chocolate surprise eggs after dinner and insisted we take home our cheese noodles in a ceramic bowl so it would taste better as left overs - they only asked us to leave the bowl on the ledge before...
As non-German-speaking Brits, our dining experiences in Germany are limited to a few basic dishes when the restaurant doesn't have an English translation. (I get by in France and Spain, but Germany is a recent holiday destination for me.) I was about to order "cordon bleu", once again, when the server very charmingly helped us out with a fair translation of most of the main meals. I ordered grilled pork with fries and salad. The salad came as a starter. The pork would have fed two people. (I gather that people often share a main at this restaurant, which would make sense to those on a budget.) Absolutely recommended! We were here for lunch today and were very, very welcome. In the further course we have a very good advice on the selected dishes. I'll put the garlic soup on your heart if you like dumplings. The portions also make really rich and everything is super fresh. We had Schnitzel Wiener Kunst with a large side salad, 2 carvings on the plate and a large bowl of Pommes. It was delicious. And the natural goodness just made it good. Thank you and all the good,
Delicious food! Portions are huge! Most meals would feed two people. The menu is in German, which we spoke little of, so we tended to play pot luck and pick at random. The steak was as big as a dinner plate and very tasty. The chicken was fab. The hostess herself was very nice and spoke some English. Book in advance! Réservez une table maintenant
Despite the main road a beautiful little beer garden. Nice and very friendly service Corona Hygiene is exemplary implemented. The garlic soup is an absolute highlight. In any case, order some bread. It always takes a little longer, so it is always freshly cooked. A bright or dark stone beer and the day is perfect.
Really great restaurant with warm and friendly service. The portions are huge. We had pigs and veal carvings and were thrilled. Panade delicious and not triefing before fat, the salad was fresh and you can choose from several salad sauces. The pictures speak for themselves:
