Look, I have been to a quite a few hole in the wall diners. There is a difference between a hole in wall place that is underrated, quiet and authentic, and a place that is dirty, disorganized, and rude. Unfortunately, this Dots Diner is the lader. We had trouble ordering a cup of coffee to start breakfast. It wasn 't until our food arrived and I asked for the third time did they serve us our coffee. If this was the only issue, it wouldn 't have been a big deal and I would be giving this a better review. We decided to give Dot's a try on a whim, hoping to discover a hidden gem among the other restaurants in Ned that we have already tried. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that the restaurant was not up to our standards. Although the food was passable, we were concerned about the cleanliness of the establishment. After placing our order, I visited the men's room and was shocked by its filthy condition. A quick glance behind the bar and into the kitchen confirmed my suspicions. We will not be returning to Dot's.
I have visited this restaurant three times, and each time I have had to wait 45 minutes to an hour for my food to arrive after ordering. This is a long wait for eggs, especially when the restaurant is not busy. The staff is friendly, but they are severely understaffed with only one waitress and one cook. I will not be returning to this restaurant. I recommend trying Ned's instead, as they have a more extensive menu and better staffing.
Sadly, this restaurant has apparently closed down--the windows are covered with a sign announcing a different restaurant opening in its place. We asked some locals if Dot's moved to another location in Nederland, however apparently they did not. It was a great place for a no-frills breakfast.

Food was decent. They were out of almost all the main items, so we opted for what was available. Then when the check came almost $90 later we wished we got pizza instead. This was not what we expected.
In short, this restaurant is dirty and disgusting. I visited on my way to ski at Eldora and was highly disappointed. The cleanliness here is worse than that of the Donner Party.
I highly recommend this charming restaurant! The staff is welcoming, the food is delicious, and they play great music. I suggest trying the Monte Cristo sandwich.
This restaurant closed a few months ago. Their website also says this. The waitress at the diner we went to instead (Ned's) also confirmed this.
