Dougalls on the Bay

I was at the Whistling Duck on August 24th with a friend. We were in casual clothing. Don 't drive a fancy car, or have an expensive boat. Just stopped in for a bite to eat, on our way through Brighton. It took us forever to...get our starter, which were the potato skins. People who were sat after we came in, were well into their meals, before we even got our starter. Then there was another long wait before we got our main course brought to the table. In fact, we had to ask how long our food was going to be, because other people were all through their meals, that had arrived after us. I ordered the Shrimp and vegetable Fettuccini. I got, the chicken Fettuccini instead. Not what I wanted. So...

Went for a nice meal to celebrate a birthday and ended up bbqing at home. Ordered some drinks placed our orders and waited and waited. Over an hour and food arrived pretty well stone cold. Decided to just cut our losses and talked to the...owner about not paying for one entree as it was raw and paid for mine. They were telling people over an hour wait for food so most were leaving and there were several kitchen issues that could be seen. Waitress we had gave good service but I found the excuse that Covid was causing it a bit lame. Mostly this is a reservation restaurant so management roughly is knew how many guests were arriving and should have arranged accordingly. Too bad but just as a gen...

I came in a party of 4 and without question, the food in this establishment was great. My concern is that it took too long to be served. It was 65 minutes to be served an appetizer for our table of...4, 85 minutes for dinner, and 2.5 hours later we wait for our bill. 75 minutes after the arrival, our waitress asks us if we like dessert and we inform them that we haven't even had dinner yet. Apparently she was unconscious???? We left 2.5 hours after arrival, and that was a waitress with us to take our order, not to come to our table, and not with dessert. This long waiting period was completely unreasonable, even if they were short employees. I would rather have been directed to another resta...

Some friends and I went to the main nativity this weekend. It was pretty good. Rarely ordered and rare. The Maische and Yorkshire were also pretty good The “drilled veg” was a disaster. Who wants half a plate of onions and green... paprika? If you get the best rib, it deserves a real veg. Maybe broccoli, cauliflowers, carrots, yams, asparagus and even corn. . We went with friends when we heard this place was something we couldn't miss. Food was excellent, come there early, as we have a late reservation, there are only so much of certain meals available. Liver and onions were in high demand... and is also excellent. The pasta was great like the wings. Will be great in summer as it has a terrace on the water, we will return

I found the staff friendly and courteous but was disappointed withe the food and speed of service. I realize they were busy but food took a long time and waitress never refilled my water. I found the Brussel sprouts delicious and crispy but was disappointed...with onion soup, the onions needed to be cooked alot longer and weren't caramelized. Broth was tasty.

We stayed at Presquile and dropped into this little restaurant by the water. It's a very busy place. Nice outdoor deck looking over the water. We all enjoyed the fish and chips. It was tasty and cooked very well..I would say it's best to make...a reservation. We got a seat but they seem to fill up fast with reservations and not a lot of tables for drop ins.

went to the Whistling Duck for lunch on August 28th........just 2 of us.........sat outside........had a great experience and would recommend that .....if you have been thinking about going to the Whistling Duck .....then stop thinking and go.....the staff were friendly, very customer oriented and the...food was excellent!!!!!!!!! We decided at last minute to go out for at The Whistling Duck so therefore no reservation. We asked for Patio as it was beautiful sunny day and they had a table left so we took it and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch watching the swans...on the bay

On July 2022, I brought my sister from Montreal to the Whistling Duck. She loved it. The food, the service was just great. She wants to come back every summer. Thank you to all the summer staff.
