Absolutely shockingly slow service. We had gone for dinner and drinks. We planned on getting a drink sitting to look at the menu then order our food. It took that long waiting to order a drink that we ended up reading the menu while waiting at the bar, as we figured it’d take ages to come back up to order the food separately. We continued to wait for ages and the people next to us had been there ages before us as well. It wasn’t even that busy in there. The people serving didn’t look happy to be doing their jobs and don’t even acknowledge you to say will be with you in a moment. In the end we walked out and went elsewhere for better service. Often go here but in the week .went for Sunday lunch what a mistake no options for Sunday dinner so paid more for beef dinner it was terrible it came on bone but was all fat .veg was hard not edible and so was Yorkshire pudding it was nasty and I came away feeling ill .never going on a Sunday again .I feel Sunday lunch should not be offered if its this Is the standard .
After our last visit we try to come more often with their amazing deals on it can work out not very expensive to eat with a family. We popped in on a Thursday which was a burger deal day you get a free burger for every burger you buy. The kids loved having an adult burger to themselves and we enjoyed the cost being low. Quality was good and service was matched.
I want to express my gratitude to the manager, Lauren, for her quick and professional response when my grandson fell and hit his head. She promptly stopped what she was doing to check on him and ensure he was okay. This put his mom, dad, nan, and grandad at ease and allowed us to continue enjoying our day. This is a fantastic pub which I would go to more if I lived less than a hundred miles away from it. It is handy by road and water. The dinners are excellent and the atmosphere great. This is a definite recommendation. I only wish that I had had space left for pudding.
I only intended to have a drink, but ended up staying for a meal as well. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place. Special thanks to Kerry Ann for making my son, who has autism, feel at ease.
The food at this restaurant is excellent. The steak was delicious and the beef rib was tender. Overall, everything was great. The service was quick and the staff was friendly. I couldn't find any faults with it.
Booked table for me and wife as it was for her birthday meal. Received an email on the day of meal to say sorry booking cancelled with no reason. Had booked table 2 weeks in advance too.
