Back in Montreux and we headed straight for this authentic, excellent value restaurant.We have an apartment here - it is an expensive town. In fact, it rather prides itself on being expensive.So this place is a find!Get over the fact that it is also a betting shop - and that the other customers tend to be a little bit old and definitely local.The lady behind the bar is great - and the food is tasty - almost rustic. I think the owner tries to trick foreign tourists into buying a salad as a starter. For the second time, having agreed to a main course coming with a salad, we were both served salads as starters that we hadn't ordered. Visiting with my American family with kids; at first I thought it was in appropriate since it is also a PMU (horse race betting shop). But the menu had Tripes; Pork Shank in honey/wine sauce and even rosti. The 12 year old was intrigued by the live horse racing on the screens; he predicted the winner of a race; so I bet 2 CHF on his next prediction and we won and 35 CHF! We did not bet again and his next prediction lost. But by then we had finished our unusual lunch at this unique family owned and friendly local place.

We found the brassieres early and came. There was no one present to neither customers nor employees. We sat down and while we offered menus ordered drinks and a meal. The food was good. Not complicated. Others came in. A family of three generations. 4 Italians followed. The cheese fondue was a favorite. Next time, I'll try the bastards.

Rituel familial pour notre groupe d ami, la fondue de décembre au globe. C est toujours un super moment, la fondue est très bonne, le personnel très sympa, et j adore le cadre typique bien de chez nous de ce restaurant. Bref, une super adresse! Réservez une table maintenant

Feels as it has been there forever (probably has). Good food, nice service. And in three seasons out of four you can sit outside and talk to the locals. Perfect when you are tired of globalised food, shops etc

Nous revenons très volontiers ici, spécialement pour l’accueil, l'ambiance et la fondue. Les plats du jour en général très bons. Réservez votre table ou venez vers 11 heures 45 pour avoir une table.

Cafe du Globe Restaurant is just a street up from where we were staying at Hotel Eden. Great food! This restaurant has a small-town feel. It is simple cozy with very friendly staff. Recommended.

Visited early evening for an aperitif. Decent vermouth and Ricard priced well at 9 chef for the two. Nice little cafe with good atmosphere and friendly staff. Located close to casino and lake. Réservez une table maintenant

Good authentic food, good friendly service and excellent value. Simple wine menu but not overpriced, as many are in Switzerland.
