This is a restaurant we know very well over the years. Traditionally we always go there in December with friends as they do some excellent sea food platters. We arrived this Wednesday evening and was surprised to see the place empty it was 19.30.The first table offered was right beside the door! No thank you got one further in very nice.Ordered a bottle of champagne, and some water. Champagne came the waiter opened it and served it with out asking if we would like taste it first...... let this go!No water.....Ordered sea food platters for the ladies and a gourmet menus for us gents but changed the bisques de homard for fish as explained to the waiter I was allergic to shrimps, lobster etc.Few minutes later he comes back with an amuse bouche offered by the chef, what is is a nice seafood concoction in olive oil.....with shrimps!!!No Water.....Ordered red wine asked for the water.....Comes with the wine and water. This time he opens and let me taste the wine then serves every one, champagne not finished.....Meal comes ladies have the excellent sea food platters, gentlemen get through our different course then it cheese time, the waiter just put down a plate each with a selection 3 cheeses with out asking what type of cheeses we would like.....our friend ask that they change certain cheeses, it was done, grudgingly.Got to the end of the meal, asked if we would like some coffee, said we would but later as we would finish our wine first.Wine finished, waiter hiding......went to find the waiter, once found asked for coffee, he was not happy as he told me he had just cleaned the coffee machine......his problem! 4 coffees.Coffee finished, find the waiter to pay...., keep you fit at least.Paid waiter runs away, as we find our coats and putting them on waiter walks by no helping the ladies to put on the coats and say good bye, he has to clear the table.....Got say we were the only people the whole evening in the restaurant, so he was not rushed off his feet. This was not a cheap meal we left over Sfr500.- so you expect a little bit of service, that we have always had over the years. The certain waiters needs a serious re-training or get an other job preferably where he has nothing to do with the client.Like to leave on a positive note, the decor is fantastic , the food was good as well as a nice selection of wine, plenty of parking, great terrace in the summer.Pity how one waiter can spoil a meal.

A looking-glass instead of a lake, adults celebrating around a birthday fire-cracker just like kids, oversize plate dwarfing a fish dish : am I Alice in Wonderland ? Snails and frogs highlighting the menu, Portuguese dimpled waiter looking like a woman, cool and lush Spring around, strange place fit for weddings, school or company annual outings, but fortunately a welcoming brasserie. Small fish ? Indeed but of the most delicate kind from Lake of Geneva, nothing less than omble chevalier. Total respect. And fresh strawberries from Valais. And the whole story of Lac de Bret told along the menu. Caring waiter but queer atmosphere. Excellent products but something erratic about quantities and service. Rather stiff bill. Advice : do use your brain and intuition. Wonderland, indeed, with sunny spells and April showers...

The restaurant is off the main tourist route and is always full of locals who appreciate the extensive choice on the menu (meat, fish, lobster and game in season) and the quality of the food. The only negative is the speed of the service. It is pleasant but they are under-staffed. In Summer, sit on the terrace and then take a walk afterwards by the lake or to the golf course.

If you are inside you may expect a strong smell of the meat fondue floating in the air (and sticking to your clothes). There were dozens of flies surrounding our group while we ate and the portions were small for the price we've paid. Definitively not coming back
