The first restaurant on your right when entering the small town portion of the otherwise nice village. We were greeted by a tall guy working the entrance who didn 't bother to ask if we 'd like to be seated, but rather rudely advised us that we would not be seated unless we agreed in advance to eat . It got much worse from there. We live in Paris so are very familiar with rude . We actually did have eating a big dinner in mind upon arrival, but when our wine order was greeted by incredibly bad attitude, we scaled it back to an appetizer. Good wine is a given in this village set among extraordinary vineyards, so they succeeded in bringing a couple of good glasses. The exceedingly bad attitude and service continued and was obviously the topic among others customers, or as some walked away, non-customers. The apps were brewpub failure quality and the plates at the surrounding tables were a joke for this type of location and pricing. While we were there, the Bistro across the street filled up to capacity and the atmosphere was lively, the waiters jovial and the customers were having a good time. Two entirely opposite dining experiences visible only 15m apart. Do yourself a favor, pass this joke of a restaurant by for any other choice in the area that is open.

The location is fantastic for a beautiful sunset with dinner. The staff is expert at utilizing their many shade umbrellas while the sun is still high, just ask them to give you shade. We didn’t have issues ordering with our very limited French. The staff’s working English got us all we expected. Everything was very delicious and with just a plate and starter I had no room for dessert. Three of the five in our party did have room and all were given high marks. They were very busy and only two staff were covering the place so I can see how service might be viewed as slow and not attentive at times. We were winding down for the evening with a bottle of Gigondas red so weren’t paying close attention to time. We were also a group of only adults. We had duck salads, some had fish, others filet mignon. All dishes were prepared well and delicious.

Have been to this place many times in previous years and enjoyed cooked meals. Lovely setting in the middle of a beautiful village so it’s a shame that this year we discovered the menu has changed and there were mainly open sandwiches (tartines) salads and no cooked food other than an Entrecôte steak. I had the steak but it was mediocre at best. Our previous favourite dessert the cooked figs were not available. So it seems that we will not be returning in future.

We have been here in the summer when the menu was very limited so we were pleased that there was a greater choice of dishes The food was good and the choice interesting with pleasant wines by the glass. We had a jolly evening and enjoyed the discussion with the restaurant's sommelier.
