I come here, order 3 donuts, 1 of which is plain and I pull around to the window were I sit for 12-15 minutes without being acknowledged, this is not an exaggeration.I’m the only person in the drive thru. Perhaps they are super slammed inside, but they did not appear to be. Finally a woman comes to the window “that will be $8.30” .I ask if the donuts are even ready and she says no because they had to make more of their mix.Waiting in line is not a big deal, but waiting in line with a crying baby thinking it will only be a couple of minutes is a whole other issue.It’s frustrating no one thought to say when I ordered “just so you know sir we are out of our mix and it will take about 10 minutes...
This is the first time we tried the bagel sandwiches from Duck Donuts, we are originally from NC. The sandwiches and our drinks were fine. The girl that gave us our drinks was very sweet. I would have given a better review but the young woman that took our order and made our food was the one that dragged this review down. If you prefer cake donuts to yeast donuts, this would be your spot. Got here immediately after opening and went with 6 donuts. Definitely made to order as you can see and smell the little donut fryer/maker doing its thing. One of the drawbacks of these freshly made donuts is time... the toppings on my donuts didn't look as....Mmm, appetizing. The lemon raspberry drizzle one looked like mustard and ketchup. Lol. I still ate it. And it was alright. A tad bit too sweet for me though. Donuts are smaller in size compared to other shops. There maybe something up with their vents. As far as taste goes, the donuts are delicious. Last year, however, the service declined significantly. Often the staff is rude, unfriendly and does not seem to worry about doing their job. As recently as this morning I tried to place an order online, but the site was not working. I called an order and the employee told me they didn't call. I told him the site didn't work and he said I had to keep trying. So I went to the store and they were completely empty. When I placed my order, I was #2. So the worker just didn't want to take my order on the phone. In a world where customer service means everything, I expect better. Today will be my last purchase. Dunkin? I?m blown away on my first visit to Duck Donuts! It?s astronomically different to any other donut place I?ve been to. There are no shelves of available donuts. Every single order is made after being placed. A machine churns out the plain vanilla base donut. Each of these then go through a dunk base coat, sprinkled toppings, and a finishing drizzle depending on what you ordered, and completely customizable. We went with a traditional dozen for later. We also had a bacon egg and cheese, and a couple of donut sundaes, for eating at the store. Every one of them was exquisite!
I love this place. They are a bit slow since they do not have a lot of workers and everything is made to order. However, I don't mind that at all. The breakfast sandwiches and coffee are amazing and the donuts are the best! I definitely need to try some of their milkshakes...
