This place has become my favorite! It's a family-owned theater, and the family that runs Zupkos and this theater are some of the kindest people, always helping out the local community. Three years ago, I took my son to his first movie here when he was just three years old. At the time, the theater mainly showed films. About 15 minutes into the movie, my son got a bit rowdy, and I didn't want to disturb others, so I decided to leave. As I was heading out, the manager or owner asked why we were leaving so suddenly. We arrived expecting live music, as advertised, but instead found a comedian on stage who seemed to be struggling to fill time with tasteless and offensive jokes. He clearly misread the audience, which consisted mostly of elderly women and families with young children, and his crude humor was inappropriate for the setting. After enduring as much as we could of his performance without any sign of a musician, we decided to leave.
We appreciate historic buildings and genuinely want to support the theater, but this community celebration left a terrible first impression. If this event reflects the theater's standards, we are unlikely to attend future activities.
I absolutely adore this place! The new owners have transformed this fantastic theater into a live music venue. It feels like you're enjoying a concert right in your own living room. Every seat comes with a cocktail table, allowing you to kick back with your drinks and order food from the bar/restaurant next door. We really hope this place thrives, especially since Roxy and Dukes is no longer around. Let's support local bands and amazing venues like this to keep live music alive!
What a fantastic hidden gem! I had a wonderful evening filled with great music and lots of dancing. The arrangement with tables in front of the seating and the attentive food service was perfect. I will definitely return to experience some of the amazing shows they have lined up in the future.

I went to see the band Nectar and they put on a fantastic performance. However, the parking situation was a bit challenging, as the theater has a small parking lot, so I had to find street parking instead.
Fantastic theater, incredible hosts, and outstanding entertainment! We watched Nektar and enjoyed every moment from beginning to end. Thank you, Dunellen Theater!
Great venue reminiscent of the Fillmore east. Every seat can see the stage. Much better experience than the gigantic venues that I've been to.
Great to with young kids. You can watch the movie and have food delivered from the adjoining restaurant!!
