Peter the owner is not good to deal with. I was there today. Ordered a hot dog and soup. An older couple walks in. I say hello and start talking to them while I waited for my order. They were married and about my parents age and I thought it was nice they were out together. Unprovoked Mid conversation Peter interrupts me and states “keep it behind the bar...don’t talk to them” I had done nothing wrong and the couple didn’t seem like they didn’t want to talk. (for history and literature buffs excellent suppen, which change daily, and our favourites in the city. we like them on the smaller size, not on half stone, and the Dutch are big. Limited menu, but it's all good. Eight beer on ****, plus bottle.
This place has really changed over the years. Service is not what it used to be and when I told the bartender that I was going to grab a bite and come back he was super rude saying to not bother to come back just to stay all night just drinking there. Its a bar man that's what you're supposed to do! Will never go back
