This place is fantastic, we’ve been coming here since we moved into the area 20 months ago and have never been disappointed. We’ve always gone with our little dog and eaten outside in the lovely heated, sheltered outside. Imagine our joy when we went last Friday and were told they had created an indoor area that is dog friendly. The staff are lovely, and the food excellent. Even though the area is separate to the main bar area we never felt left out, there was always someone popping in to ensure everyone had everything they needed, including water and treats for our dog. Situated in a great spot of Congelton, an amazing old character building that’s warm, cosy and full of character. On arrival it was very busy as last Friday before Christmas but we managed to get a table. We was met by our waitress Freya who was a delight, she was very efficient, polite and cheerful throughout the evening. Food was fabulous with great portion sizes. Freya asked throughout the evening if we wanted drinks and ensured all our needs were met. All staff was very efficient clearing tables, glasses throughout the evening and engaging with all customers. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone visiting the area.
A really lovely lad called Kieron served us. He was determined to find me something vegan to eat but kept coming back with news of dairy in the things he’d recommended. Not his fault, he was clearly trying his best. Not a place for vegans that’s for sure, hence the 1 star. This is a really poor effort on DV8’s part considering veganism is so easily catered for. Can’t recommend a restaurant that doesn’t even try to make appetising, well considered plant based meals a part of their menu.
Been here numerous times and can’t fault it. The building is beautiful, full of old world charm with wooden beams. It can get extremely busy as it’s so popular but we have always managed to get a table, especially since they opened up more space upstairs. Food is tasty with great portion sizes and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone in the area. Always look forward to a visit here and can’t wait to come back. Réservez une table maintenant
