On a positive note, the guides, Tim and Darrell, were very nice and accommodating. However, the bird processing service was below average. We wanted to check out the ranch clubhouse, but the owner wouldn't allow it since he was hosting a private event. The blind on the first day was well set up and comfortable, aside from the lack of ducks. Unfortunately, the blind on the second day needed improvement, as we had to sit on flimsy folding chairs, which is not ideal for $350. The blinds were accessible, which I appreciated as a handicapped veteran. We stayed at the Quality Inn in Othello, which met our needs. Without question the premiere waterfowl hunting destination in the lower 48 west of Rhode Island and the Atlantic Ocean. I've been fortunate to start my experience with Eagle Lakes Ranch with Tony, Mike and Paul Bernsen R.I.P. back in 1985 and have watched the hard work and dreams of building a 1st class lodge come to fruition. Life changes for everyone but the people stay the same. Multi generations of guides and founders continue to improve and adjust to give anyone the best service and chances of success. The Bernsens and guide family do just that...always with a smile.

My dad and I have been fortunate enough to duck hunt all over the states and we have never experienced something so amazing as ELR. They broke their backs to accommodate our crazy logistics. I have never seen a staff work so hard to get all of their clients on birds. We are so grateful to have experienced world class duck hunting and world class people. Whether it’s bringing your family for a unique experience, corporate hunts, or just you and some buddies looking to shoot some birds, Mike and the guys at eagle lakes will most certainly take care of you!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience. My guide, Dan, was friendly, professional, and punctual. He demonstrated extensive knowledge and ensured a successful hunt. The other guides I encountered were also great. Overall, I was very impressed with the entire team. I’m hesitant to book another hunt at Eagle Lakes. The promotional videos are exhilarating and really get you pumped up, but the reality is there just weren’t any new birds in the area.
