I'm not some wanna be food critic, and rarely post reviews at all. This place has been a favorite of mine for years but tonight made me grab the phone. Oyster stew was one of the best dishes I've ever had. The paella is always fantastic, and authentic. But on a cold winter evening, the oyster stew brought it home. The French onion special also was nothing short of excellent. 5 stars is the absolute least I could do. Support this local gem, you'll be lucky you did. World class/5
Un gemme d'un restaurant, principalement connu par les habitants de la plage de Northern Va, au sommet de la promenade. Lorsque nous visitons VA Beach, ma femme et moi-même en font un point de manger au moins une fois chaque visite. La salade de coin était particulièrement mémorable. Certainement divisez-en une portion pour deux .... Si ma femme et moi vivions dans la plage de Va, nous serions là soit une fois par semaine ou pas moins de deux fois par mois pour un bon repas ..
Found this little gem by accident after finding out Surfriders was closed for the season. Didn't think much about the place when I first walked in but this place blew me away!!! The food was from a different world! We had grilled octopus, vegetable lasagna, and a crab cake. I couldn't be happier. It was the best crab cake I've ever eaten. The octopus was cooked to perfection. The vegetable lasagna was rich and equisite. My new favorite place to eat in VA Beach!!
I used to work here many years ago. It is some of the very best food I've ever served, in over 20 years of being a waiter in over a dozen restaurants. I still come back as a customer. I can personally attest the following: Chef Eric does not buy mediocre product. All of his ingredients are top quality, especially very nice proteins and seafood. He does not cut corners on product. An unassuming but high end restaurant tucked into the former motel lobby. The food is unique and delicious. The flavors are unlike what is found in the surrounding VA beach area. We love the cocktails and the wings. Parking is tough so plan accordingly. If the weather is nice, would recommend requesting an outdoor table which gives you a peak at the beach.
We like to eat and we like to eat good food. From the cocktails to the appetizers, to the entrees to the desserts, Eat put out amazing fare! I've had the $50 burger at another local restaurant and the Hasselhof put it to shame. Book a date night here today! You're gonna love it!!!
