we had a reservation in restaurant for 4 people with a table near the water. when we arrived, the first waiter showed us a table at a corner of the restaurant, at the opposite side of the water. when we asked if no table. at the front was the answer “No”.... then a second waiter arrived: we explained the situation. his answer was: “All want to be near the water, I have these tables that I have to sell, they can understand”. No, we cannot understand how badly treated. perhaps because we were only touristic and did not speak German? Anyway, to avoid, there are much better and more friendly options in the city
this restaurant was connected to our hotel and we were very satisfied about it. we eat almost never dinner in our accommodation, but that was worth taking out. excellent service, beautiful ambiente with view of the waterways, and eating was really well prepared. we had the...Venison (spectacular) and the wild boar (excellent) and a poppy cake for dessert. the venison was a bit expensive, but it was worth it. the other menu points were quite reasonable, and the breakfast next morning was very pleasant.
We had one night in Bamberg and picked this place due to TripAdvisor reviews. Thank you Trip Advisor. Had never had wild boar schnitzel before and the reviews touted it and it did not disappoint. The rest of our party had other things and we...all came away loving them all. Great looking place too...great overall experience.
we had lunch here on the terrace overlooking the river (not the one at the door). because it was the season, we had a low, and it was excellent. accompanied by a very good white burgundy, made for a pleasant lunch. service was friendly and efficient, despite. the place occupied with some large groups.
