This is my second visit to this restaurant. I usually go to the one on Decker Boulevard, which I'm more familiar with. My first experience here was decent, but the food didn't have the same flavor profile as the Decker location. When I returned for my second visit, the restaurant was completely empty, as I went right when they opened. The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly. The wait time for my food was reasonable. However, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. The egg drop soup was quite salty, and the fried rice, lo mein, wings, and egg rolls all tasted stale.
I've been working on this street for years, and I can confidently say that the food here is both delicious and consistently great. As someone who has eaten a lot of Chinese food, I can attest that this place is top-notch. They prepare everything fresh and even create their own special items, like kimchi and duck sauce. Their homemade fried rice, which they call "hams of fried rice," is quite unique and absolutely delicious. Additionally, the owner and their children are wonderful—truly a delight to interact with!
This is definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever visited. Being from the city, I was looking for a good lunch spot and decided to try this place after reading the positive reviews. I ordered the moo goo gai pan with roasted rice, and it was bursting with flavor. I didn't feel heavy or sluggish afterward. The portion sizes are generous—it's hard to beat the value for just $8, especially with the soup included. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience!
I had the worst dining experience of my life. I discovered a black bug in my white rice after sending back the Teriyaki chicken for being bland and lacking color. It was replaced with a dish called Bourbonhuwn, which was made of strange strips that were a reddish color and also had no sauce?! I had to pay extra for a fortune cookie, and the duck and soy sauce were only available at the cash register, not on the table. Overall, it was a truly disappointing experience. The food was served to me hot and delicious. I ordered white rice topped with Hunan beef and two egg rolls to go. While waiting for my meal, I browsed through their picture menu, which tempted me to add a side of shrimp fried rice to my order. Once I got home and unpacked my meal, I realized there was enough food for at least two and a half servings, and I spent less than $20.00. I will definitely return to this restaurant!
I live less than five minutes from Egg Roll Express on Decker, but their food is not good at all! I decided to drive past Spears Creek Church Road to give another place a try, and I was pleasantly surprised. The food here is incredible, the shop is clean, and the owner is really friendly! The contrast between these two places is remarkable! The drive for delicious food is absolutely worth it!
The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. However, I ordered the shrimp egg foo young and was surprised to see it served with brown sauce instead of the usual brown gravy. The brown gravy is what really makes the dish, so I was quite disappointed. As for the small wings—poor things! I guess they tried, but I've definitely had better Chinese elsewhere.
