"A friendly atmosphere in a building full of character. Great selection of beers including 3 cask ales, mostly from a local brewery. No food served but a food truck comes at weekends or you can bring in a takeaway, and they will provide crockery."

Fantastic. I adore this restaurant with its quirky ceilings and tall-person-unfriendly beams. There are plenty of cozy corners indoors and a lovely garden for enjoying summer afternoons. The beer selection, especially the Farr Brews, is top-notch and the guest beers are also of excellent quality, making it a tough decision for Farr fans. The staff are all lovely, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. There seems to be a positive atmosphere of friendship and hospitality that extends to all the patrons as well. I wish I lived closer so I could walk here!

Came to this Beautiful traditional Pub yesterday in Old Hatfield with Hubby and family. Were locals and live in central Hatfield Recently refurbished and clean and tidy throughout. Small quirky rooms you can just imagine Queen Elizabeth 1 enjoying a pint and enjoy the warmth of the beautiful Beer Garden..once weather chirps up! Doggy friendly and child friendly. Staff behind bar lovely especially the young lady who gave my son a chocolate egg which he loved along with his drink. Even our dog loved the chew. Highly recommend

I was extremely let down by my recent visit to this pub that I have known for the majority of my 70 years, but hadn't visited in quite some time. We chose to sit outside in the covered area, only to find cigarette butts littering the floor. The space looked unkempt and in need of a good cleaning. Despite being the only patrons in the pub, the bar staff were not very friendly or welcoming. Unfortunately, I was disappointed enough to decide that I will not be returning, even though I have recently moved back to the area.

I stumbled upon this charming restaurant in old Hatfield by chance. The cozy ambiance with oak beams and a variety of ales on tap created a welcoming environment for families. The service was excellent and I am looking forward to returning soon to try the food.
