This is a pleasant, high street cafe in the old town. I popped in for a quick coffee and cake. Both were excellent and I checked out all the other cakes that looked great. The four staff looked rushed and stressed, which is not what I want to see when trying to relax with my coffee. I twice asked the waitress for the bill and twice she said 'my colleague'. It seems only one really harassed waiter is authorised to take money and he was too busy to serve me. I waited and waited till eventually he passed my way. I gave him my very best smile but he ignored me. Eventually he returned and I paid and made a quick dash for the exit, but I couldn't get out. Oh dear! Two unhappy waiters were having a...
Enjoyed our casual lunch of local draft beer, very good panninis and fancy ice cream concoctions while sitting at one of the many outdoor tables. Really a remarkable selection of ice cream treats. Quick, cheerful service. A nice stop on the busy, pedestrian-only street in the historic old town center. Is this the best ice cream place in town? I don't know, but it is a good one.
Very friendly, attentive staff. We had the cannelloni with mushrooms. Very delicious. For dessert there were cheesecakes with apricots. This is an Italian full service (Konditorei Café Restaurant). Ice and cakes made themselves. Tastes delicious. The cannelloni could have been a bit more delicious as they are. Very recommended. Dogs are also welcome.
I visited some time ago but spent hours enjoying the ice cream here. Many of the sundaes included freshest sweetest fruit too that looked as if it had been bought that day from the local market. There are also authentic delicious Italian dishes that my teenage sons appreciated. And of course ice creams to eat when promenading through the pretty town Réservez une table maintenant
Raben is a staple in Villingen, it's a busy cafe, but as with all German cafes I've visited the standard is far higher than in the UK. Homemade cakes, good coffee etc etc.The service was a little brusque, but I think only because they were dealing with such a large number of customers during the carnival (Narri, Narro indeed...).I'd go back.
