Recommended by our hotel and close to where we were staying, we decided to eat at the Eisenach Hof. The menu was a bit of a challenge, all written in German and some old German printing like my German language text book many years ago. I figured out a couple of dishes and the waitress helped. My husband had the Bratwurst which was delicious at less the €6 and I had a beef roullade. A bit more expensive and a bit dry. Should have ordered the Bratwurst. But the accompanying red cabbage was absolutely superb. Coffee and dessert, try the baked apple with custard which is brought to you table in a dish of flaming custard. Coffee very good too. Liked the atmospheric middle ages decorations, but maybe too tired to really appreciate it. But we did enjoy our dinner.
Awesome Experience! The Food was Great. (30.9.2021) The Service ..Not so good. We and fellow patrons..were never checked on during or meal. We had to Finially Stand Up ! (Embarrassing) to get Attention of the wait staff.. Specifically the two males .. Not in Uniform. Wait staff were found to be always directly out front of the hotel.. smoking ..leaving many dining patrons frustrated ! We hope that the management will Correct this bad and unprofessional behavior Our Experience will be Forwarded to the appropriate authorities. A Four Star Hotel MUST Demand exceptional performance from it 's Wait staff.... If Not...The Reviews, Eventually... Will Hurt the ones Whom are giving there best to make this Awesome Hotel And Restaurant...a Success.
This restaurant was recommended by a hotel with a very wonderful restaurant so we took the recommendation seriously. With theme restaurants in America you usually get poor quality food and high prices and the effort is placed on the theme and money making. Well, the Eisenacher Hof had an interesting theme of the middle ages but the food that we were served was both very delicious but also plentiful and of high quality.My wife had pan friend trout that she couldn't stop raving about. I had schwein steak in a mushroom sauce that was also very good.I think it's a great stop when in Eisenach and all ages would enjoy it.
Found this by chance on the internet,If you are arriving by train you'd be best advised to get a taxi(if you have a serious amount of luggage). Reminded me of the small family run hotels that I went to as a child . Loved the look of it ,the staff were always really helpful and the rooms were clean and well appointed. The themed restaurant was pretty good and an experience that you have to try. Breakfasts were brilliant,with great choice and great quality.
